Peripheral smear of Acute Leukemias

Acute Leukemias as per WHO is a condition where the number of Blasts in the blood or bone marrow increases. It is further classified into:

Acute Myeloid Leukemia

Acute lymphoid Leukemia.

 

The various classification systems are as per WHO and FAB based on the blast percentage. WHO considers 20% blasts and FAB considers 30% blasts.
